The arrival of snowdrops always seems to be a turning point. Artist Sven Berlin would say we could visit 'when the snowdrops have come...' And so here they are at last. How uplifting it is to see the multitude of snowdrops there are this year, our early daffodils, and elsewhere in the garden the blue bells are arriving in abundance. Today, 5 years ago, Sven Berlin's White Buck carving arrived in Godshill in the New Forest. This is the team that saved it from demolition - and, of course, the staff at the Fawley site who had lived with him for over 50 years! This Carrara marble bas-relief weighs 7.5 tons and measures 11ft x 7ft! In his lifetime, Sven told us that he could 'easily' arrange for it to be 'moved' for any exhibition we wanted to stage! Mmmm!
