Sven Berlin often tried to help other artists and when he met Cornish naive artist Mary Jewels in 1946 he wrote an article for Horizon magazine and hoped to arrange an exhibition for her in London. Her style, much admired by Augustus John, Cedric Morris and Christopher Wood, is immediately identifiable and this is a detail from a larger painting of flowers we have for sale on our Millersford Gallery site.
