Tribute to Barry Peckham

Homy Ridge, New Forest, Barry Peckham 1997
Homy Ridge, New Forest, a cherished painting by Barry Peckham, from 1997.

We and so many who live in and love the New Forest were deeply saddened to lose friend and artist Barry Peckham. Barry passed away on August 29th 2024, aged 78, and had been a much admired stalwart of the New Forest art scene as well as a member of many illustrious art societies, his work being recognised by the Royal Institute of Oil Painters, the Society of Equestrian Artists and the Royal Society of Marine Artists.

To pay tribute to Barry above is a much loved oil of a favourite spot, Homy Ridge, and another and more unusual work, Brambles, one of three impressionist paintings from 1995. Thank you, Barry, for all the joy your paintings have brought us over the years, for capturing the magic of the New Forest in all its seasons, for your friendship, and for sharing your passion, knowledge and insight with us. He will be sorely missed by all and we send our heartfelt sympathy to all his family.
